Sabr is built to work without knowing anything about you. This page says exactly what leaves your phone, and what never does.

Who handles your data

Sabr is published by Cyril Bellamy, an independent developer. Any question: c.bellamy.dev@gmail.com.

What stays on your phone

Your fasts, your water intake, your settings, the location you saved and the cached prayer times live in the app storage. They are copied to no server, and nobody but you can read them.

What leaves your phone

Your approximate location, and only if you turn on Ramadan mode. It is sent to the Aladhan service (api.aladhan.com) to get the times for your city. We keep it on no server of ours.

Your purchases, if you make any. Google Play handles the payment, and RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the purchase history, so the paid features can be unlocked and restored after a reinstall. No name, no address and no payment details ever reach us.

What Sabr does not do

No account to create. No ads, no trackers, no analytics. Nothing is sold or shared for commercial purposes, and your profile is used for nothing, since there is none.

Legal basis

Your location provides the service you asked for: without it the times cannot be worked out (GDPR article 6.1.b, performance of a contract). Purchase data answers the same necessity, and our accounting obligations.

How long

Local data stays until you erase it or uninstall the app. The purchase history is kept by RevenueCat for as long as your access must be restorable, which is indefinite for a lifetime purchase.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, object to and port your data. Portability is built in: the CSV export hands you everything. For anything else, write to c.bellamy.dev@gmail.com.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app erases everything local, with no way back.

For the purchase history held by RevenueCat, write to c.bellamy.dev@gmail.com: deletion happens within 30 days. Note that it then prevents any lifetime purchase from being restored.

Minors

Sabr is meant for people aged 18 and over. Prolonged fasting by a minor is a matter for medical advice.

Changes

This page may change with the app. The date at the top applies. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
